choirs go away again

Just getting into a routine with various choirs when there is a second lockdown and they all go away again. I managed to fit in a second visit to Gloucester just in time, in the process becoming aware of some of the bad habits I’ve got into while singing with a face covering. I can get away with a lot behind a mask that I would self-critically reject without one. Now there won’t be any singing with anyone else in person till early December at least.

However, some things continue. I’m recording an anthem and a hymn each week for church (this week, for a Remembrance service) and Bristol Choral Society has its carol competition, with ‘virtual performances’ we will also record individually. There’s an embargo on talking about the entries so I won’t say any more about them here. I have to take care to learn them all thoroughly and not give a better performance to my favourites.
