the Erleigh Cantors on YouTube

If I’d known I’d have worn more jewellery – we were videoed and recorded today for the RG4 section of www.aboutmyarea.co.uk. The video is on YouTube here. This isn’t one of those YouTube videos where something goes unexpectedly wrong or humorous surtitles are superimposed. We’re singing an unaccompanied portion of Ye Choirs of New Jerusalem by Richard Shephard, in which I think I detect the influence of some well-known passages of Howells and Messiaen.

The video is really advertising the concert in St. Peter’s, Caversham, next Saturday May 10th at 7.30. I’m not sure what the alternative entertainment in Caversham is that night – presumably drowning your sorrows at the relegation of Reading FC, or perhaps celebrating their escape.

I think this is my YouTube debut. There’s your video and another of the Cathedral Chamber Choir at Norwich on the CCC group page on Facebook, but I’m not sure whether those are visible outside the group. The Erleigh Cantors are about to go bigger time as we sing at St Paul’s Cathdral in October.

What are the pretty square patterns next to the posts? Is a unique one allocated to each commenter? Our 2 are replroduced elsewhere and a 3rd poster (Robin) has a brown one. If this post acquire the purple square I guess my answer has been supplied.
The CCC video is on YouTube too but mine is only on Facebook.

Yes, I think one pattern goes with each commenter. Looks like a recent enhancement to WordPress, to replace the blank squares you used to get if you don’t supply your own picture (and most people don’t).
