I was satisfied with the way my solo went &#8211; one of those exposed ones that can be safely given to trebles because they don&#8217;t realise just how exposed it is.  I hadn&#8217;t realised before now how much the choir sings in unison, or in two parts doubled at the octave. We also sang Weelkes&#8217; &#8216;Hosanna to the Son of David&#8217; from the back of the church at the start.  There was also some fake Italian baroque &#8211; Albinoni&#8217;s <i>Adagio<\/i> &#8211; and some of the real stuff &#8211; Pergolesi&#8217;s <I>Stabat Mater<\/I>, done as a duet by two of the other singers.<\/p>\n<p>\nOn Saturday I went to an impressive concert in a local church given by the Exultate Singers, of Passiontide music including Leighton&#8217;s &#8216;Crucifixus pro nobis&#8217; which I&#8217;d never heard live before.
