Brucker, like Rachmaninov, is a composer whose church music I much prefer to their purely orchestral compositions. (As opposed to Liszt and Dvo\u0159\u00e1k, whom I find far preferable in secular mode.)\u00a0 It will be interesting to hear how the Mass relates to the symphonies; I can already hear turns of phrase which recall passages in his motets, all of which I’ve sung.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
